Assignment Two

The Everyday: Modes of Picture Taking

Looking at the meaning behind the idea that we have to photographical explore for this assignment; that being contemporary ritual.

Contemporary Ritual-
contemporary- pre-sent day, modern. living or occuring at the same time.
rituals- predcribed order of rites. regular repeated action or behaviour.

Have kinda been making a list of daily rituals that we as humans do on a daily routine almost unconciously....
  • waking up (literally being woken up or waking up)
  • getting out of bed (feet on ground sort of thing...)
  • stretching when first awoken?
  • washing your face (cuold create some lovely images)
  • feeding a pet?
  • putting on shoes (once again could lead to some really neat photos)
  • setting alarms
  • locking up, houses, windows etc
  • boiling the kettle/ making cups of coffee, tea ....
  • drinking (documenting throughout the day(any type of drink))
  • opening mail
  • washing hands
  • brushing hair
  • getting dressed/undressed (clothes lying in a pile on floor would suggest undressed/ suggestive images)
  • turning lights on and off
